This season has been a horrendous failure. Yeah, Sadiq Bey has turned it around, Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren look like they'll be solid ball players, and Killian Hayes has shown that he could have a role on this team, but the overall development is in the wrong direction. This team is worse than last season, with more talented players.
The Defensive Effort is Pathetic
I am not listening to any argument against this one. Professional athletes should put forth a better effort. Teams literally run layup lines against the Pistons. I'm a die-hard fan, and I've succumbed to turning the games off because the other team shoots 60% and scores 130 points. The switching strategy doesn't work, but more importantly, the effort isn't there.
If Dwane Casey doesn't get fired, it's proof of tanking, and the league should fine the Pistons.
No coach should keep their job after a season like this. The team isn't responding anymore. They don't run plays, and they don't play defense. If this is the plan, it's a terrible one. If it's not the plan, why aren't the players listening? Either way, the outlook isn't good.
On another note, if the Pistons are tanking, everyone in the organization should be fined or fired. Fans pay good money to go to games and to watch on tv. But "Victor Wembanyama!?!?!" Sure, great. We'll see if we get the top pick.
Tanking is a dangerous game because I don't think this losing culture will quickly shake off. The Lions have been trying to do it for my entire life.
What is the Pistons' offense?
They play pickup-style basketball. They don't work for good shots. The guy that brings the ball up shoots most of the time. Everyone stands and watches the ball. Every now and again, they run an offense, and lo and behold, the score. It's like that's how the game is played or something.
Can we get rid of the atrocious Teal Jerseys for good?
I know some fans 'love' them. What's to love? They are ugly and represent losing. No objectivity here. I hate them and hope they go away forever. Burn them.
The red, white, and blue jerseys are classic. Over the past few seasons, they've shown that they can come up with alternative designs with that color palate. So, why not do that instead?
Also, the fact that the jerseys have been the most pertinent topic of discussion this season makes me want to cry.
More ranting
I'd pay to have everyone at Little Caesars Arena chant, "Please play defense!" for the entire game.
I think firing Dwane Casey would be a relief to him. Watch him on the sideline. He's dead inside.
The emphasis on the three-point shot is killing the NBA.
