Four Upcoming Movies/TV Shows I'm Excited About

Well, here they are!

Moon Knight March 30th

Moon Knight should be pretty cool. It's a character that I don't know much about, but Marvel's new adventurous directions have been exciting. Loki and WandaVision both had styles and atmospheres like no previous Marvel projects. It should be pretty cool to see what they can do with this new mythos and a darker character to go along with it. Oscar Isaac gets a chance at comic book redemption after the abysmal X-Men: Apocalypse. I think this show should be pretty fun.

Morbius April 1st

After the wildness of Spiderman: No Way Home, my expectations for Morbius have increased greatly. Spiderman has the coolest rogues gallery in all of Marvel. With the direction turning towards more mystical and fantastical characters, it should be fun to see what they do with this character. The Sony-verse flamed out with The Amazing Spiderman 2, but I think we're seeing a new attempt get started with Morbius and the Venom films. The real question about these films is who is their universe's Spiderman? I have a suspicion that the film was delayed for some reshoots after the popular reception of Andrew Garfield's Spiderman in Spiderman: No Way Home. It could of course be Toby Maguire or someone entirely new (seems unlikely but is always possible). The multiverse has really created a feeling of not knowing what to expect. That feeling makes films fun to watch.

Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness May 6th

Again, Spiderman: No Way Home has really opened up the possibilities of what this film could be. I think its delay also had to do with reshoots. The popularity of the returning characters combined with the fact that fans have picked up the new set of rules so quickly really allows Marvel to take more risks. The popularity of What-If also makes the possibilities grander. There seems to be a lot of new directions as the MCU begins to reflect the absurdity and possibility of the comic books. Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness could be the new Ironman (2008). It could be the film that everyone looks back to 10 years later as the one that changed the direction of the cinemas.

Obi-Wan Kenobi May 25th

Okay. I'm beyond excited about this show. I've been freaking out since the trailer came out. Star Wars has been dramatically improved on television, and I think this show will really shine by combining the stories of television and film more so than ever before. The trailer is the best aural trailer I've ever heard. The Star Wars theme is followed by Duel of the Fates which is followed by Darth Vader breathing. Get out of here!
